Forest Fires

It seems that a lot of people are complaining about the smoke in the air, supposedly from the forest fires. The fires seem to be happening mostly in the summer and can last for months. Some people like the idea of forest fires, in order for nature to takes its course, allowing for new trees to grow. Some of the fires may be due to lumber companies not putting out their own smoldering piles of what ever is left over.

Western vs. Eastern

Just by looking at a map, I noticed a big difference between Western Montana and Eastern Montana. Western seems more populated and more mountainous. Eastern is more flat and not as many towns. From what I hear, Eastern gets colder and windier. The snow is dryer and so it doesn't stay on the ground too much. Western has wetter snow and less wind due to the mountains. I love the mountains, and would appreciate milder temperatures, so if I had to move anywhere in Montana, it would most likely be on the Western side. I am not sure what the summers are like in these areas, but plenty of people have lots to say about the winters so far.

Indian Reservations

After fantasizing about what Montana would be like, I decided to look into its history. Native Americans were the first to live on this land. I googled Indian reservations in Montana and came up with a few.

One day, I got it stuck in my head to think about Montana for some reason. I don't know why. So, being that I live far away from the state of Montana, I decided to feed my curiosity and google surf anything and everything about this wondrous place. I have gathered a lot of information from the Internet and friends who have once lived or visited there and have placed all of that info here.
